I certainly don't want to start a flamewar here, 
but why?  What about Debian do you prefer over 
FreeBSD?

I never advanced to Debian, but I did try all the 
commercial Linuxes before getting worn out.  Once I 
switched to FreeBSD I haven't looked back.
