Anna --

You'll find that one of the drawbacks of dealing with Unix users 
and the technical community is that we tend to be literal-minded,
and work best with specific information.  If you overanalyse your 
problem before presenting it to the likes of us, you risk the
chance of us addressing the wrong problem.

For example, you framed your situation as "What is the command to 
unlock applications designed for individual users."  But I'm 
quite sure that's not the problem you're trying to solve.

Dollars to donuts, what you meant to say was "I need help starting
up Moneydance and Starpoint.  I attempted to do so by doing [foo],
and [bar] happened, instead."

It may be that some history of what you've done on the system 
recently is relevant to your problem (whatever that problem is).
If so, please describe what you did specifically, step by step,
in chronological order.

I'm posting this on the suspicion that your appeal for help would 
otherwise go unaddressed, because nobody can figure out exactly what
the difficulty is, or what's going on, from your account.  I may be
mistaken -- and intend no offence, in any event.
