Bob Read: The method the app was using to determine the OS type is uname.

Patrick Soltani: I tried the exellent suggestion you gave.  I thought I had 
remembered something about elf branding.  Unfortunately, I get ' file is not 
ELF format' error  trying to brand the app itself or the rpm.

I appreciate the pointers and am trying to see if there's anything more I can 
do with elfbrand, but so far no luck.
