i can try.

Beowulf - Massively Parralell Processing Cluster. akin to making your own
          Cray Supercomputer. Generally requires identical hardware.

ClusterIt - more along the lines of distributed processing than paralell
            systems.

Mosix seems to be akin to clusterit.

beowulf used to be a pain to set up and design. the advantage, of course,
is that with a little programming savy, you could have an MPP machine for
much less than the cost of a Cray.
