Further research on installing an Atheros AR5007EG wifi driver in Ubuntu 8.01:

It's not gonna work, the driver is just too new, from what I've
learned on various Ubuntu message boards. Then a light bulb appeared
over my head: "Why not get a USB wifi adapter?" So I searched eBay, to
find ones that claim to work w/Linux, and ordered this one:

802.11G WiFi USB 2 Wireless Adapter

Works w/Linux kernel 2.6.6 and later, and comes with a 5dbi detachable antenna.
Total: $21.53 USD (including CA tax, shipping and insurance).

BTW, "Ubuntu Eee" is now "Easy Peasy"...ugh, what a terrible title.

PS: Charles, very sorry but I do not have the Windoze95 installation
CD anymore. Just looked for it in my storage bin, and remembered I had
cleaned out a bunch of old software a few weeks ago.

Where was everybody? Only 4 of us showed up at last night's gathering.
Still, an enjoyable and informative evening as always.
