At BUUG meeting this evening, question was asked about Debian, and if
Debian has "live" ISO versions. Yes, they do - DVD ISOs.
One can start here:
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current-live/
e.g. for presently most current Gnome for amd64 or i386, respectively:
bittorrent:
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current-live/i386/bt-hybrid/debian-live-6.0.4-i386-gnome-desktop.iso.torrent
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current-live/amd64/bt-hybrid/debian-live-6.0.4-amd64-gnome-desktop.iso.torrent
Or, not the recommended way, but likewise, direct full ISOs:
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current-live/amd64/iso-hybrid/debian-live-6.0.4-amd64-gnome-desktop.iso
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current-live/i386/iso-hybrid/debian-live-6.0.4-i386-gnome-desktop.iso

I believe one can also put those direct on USB device (no partitioning,
just write the ISO image direct to the USB device), and one can then
generally boot straight from the USB device.

Regardless of method or where obtained, best to use the the *SUMS* files
in relevant directory containing the above ISOs, to cryptographically
verify the contents of ISO image one has obtained/created.
